When You Wake Up...
by Matt Kahn
When you wake up as the morning sun,
To see what's here, and know you're done.
A vanishing act, now ONE means none,
When you wake up as the morning sun.
When you wake up as midnight's glow,
To what truth is, not what you know,
Then you find yourself, wherever you go,
When you wake up as midnight's glow.
When you wake up as creation's source,
That loves to allow, no thought to force,
Then you find yourself, in all, of course,
When you wake up as creation's source.
When you wake up as heaven's gaze,
That shines through all, in infinite ways,
Then you find yourself, as nights and days,
When you wake up as heaven's gaze.
When you wake up as the ocean's roar,
Illusions fade and you're no more,
It's grace that breathes each wave to shore,
When you wake up as the ocean's roar.
When you wake up as peaceful rest,
Awareness shines and life is blessed.
Silence finds itself the best,
When you wake up as peaceful rest.
When you wake up, I'll find you here,
Then there you are, both far and near,
All forms shall live as they appear,
When you wake up, I'll find you here.
When you wake up as the morning sun,
Peace prevails, no war was won,
With nothing gained, but to come undone;
When you wake up as the morning sun.
