Fall Apart
by Matt Kahn
This poem was written to capture the emotion and shift of perception I experienced as the cocoon of mind broke apart to liberate awareness into the awakened state. In the moment of this blossoming, these words were written to convey how those who loved me could best offer support. This was the moment of spiritual rebirth when what had always been true, somehow no longer mattered.
Join me now, let's take a walk,
If you'd like to help, then please don't talk.
No thoughts on how, I end or start,
Please hold me as I fall apart.
Hold me now, I think I'm falling,
What's a thought, but mental stalling,
Stuckness moves through tears and bawling,
Through the ring of freedom calling.
Join me now, with nothing said,
I need no help to reach ahead.
This stillness shines through every part,
Please hold me as I fall apart.
Your teachings are for other ears,
Who reach, then grasp, and label fears.
You can't explain this stream of tears,
(and) I'm not concerned with what thought hears.
Join me now, with open eyes,
And give your time to mind's demise.
With love and grace inside your heart,
Please hold me as I fall apart.
Can you see this open hand,
That's one with all, as thoughts disband.
I'm here to be, it's all been planned,
Without a doubt, with where I land.
Join me now, it's time to go,
Back to life and watch it grow,
I cannot end, nor do I start;
So hold me as I fall apart.
