Energy Update - August 2011
by Julie Dittmar

We have been getting a flurry of calls and emails recently from people who are wondering what is happening on earth and in their bodies. They are doing sessions with Matt because they feel like they are "going crazy", or their bodies are falling apart, or they find themselves lashing out at themselves or others and are confused about why this is happening.

They tell us they're not sleeping well, we've seen a lot of stomach issues….nausea and tummy tumbles, dizziness, lethargy, as well as emotional intensity and volatility rise to the surface. A woman I spoke with recently put it ever so aptly - "I've been releasing some very intense anger the last few days. I even shouted 'f-bombs' in the car on the way to work. It was just so much anger! I go from flying high, to feeling like a demon; it really is a frightening place to be." I thank her for voicing what seems to so precisely sum up what we've been hearing lately.

Maybe you are feeling that way, too, or are seeing that pop up in others right now? Some talk about all of this being "ascension symptoms." Others say these emotional and physical disturbances, along with the recent rare east coast and Colorado earthquakes we're hearing about on Facebook and the media - is a part of the 9th wave in the Mayan cycle that is shifting, cleansing, purifying the earth and humanity.

This seems to be a time to truly "let go and let God," and also a time to buckle up and hang on! By "hang on," I mean love your loved ones. Love yourself. Love all of humanity. Love the earth. Love the cosmos. Embrace change.

It's time to drink more purified water (with a pinch or two of pink Himalayan salt for absorption), eat lighter, healthier foods that are easier for the body to digest, perhaps even supplementing with a good probiotic. If you're experiencing an abundance of heat in the body from these shifts, from kundalini, or joint aches and inflammation, you may want to gravitate toward cooling foods like cucumbers, cilantro, watermelon, or aloe juice. And, coconut water is an excellent and delicious way to cool, hydrate, and replenish electrolytes in your body. Breathe deeply and mindfully (pranayama), chant, do some yoga (relaxing, restorative, supportive, heart-opening asanas), spend time with nature or in your garden.

Like Matt says, "If you want to know the answer to any question in life, go ask a tree. It will answer you with silence." Meditate. Meditate, meditate. Did I say meditate? Yes, meditate! Now is the time to do what you love, even if only for 5 minutes a day. Hopefully, much more than that. Let's tilt the scales toward doing more and more, here, there, and everywhere, of what you LOVE and makes your heart sing!

Whatever is calling you (and you KNOW what that is because it's that lovely voice that keeps coming up over and over, and has an urgent excitement to it), now is the time to listen to that wise inner guidance. Maybe it's suggesting you spend more time with trees and off of the computer, maybe it's switching from coffee to tea, maybe it's time to adopt a dog, or start a meditation or prayer group. Where can you provide yourself and others with more love and support, right now? Please feel free to give yourself permission to explore what feels the most open and relaxed in your body.

Spending more time in love, peace, joy, and the energy of excitement, is going to do the world a world of good right now! Let us join together in the excitement and mystery of the unknown, while also knowing that egoic structures are crumbling and many things that used to feed us and support us, are not going to make the journey through this. We can celebrate what served to usher us into this moment, knowing that the next moment isn't here yet, so let's just simply smile our Buddha smile and enjoy what's here - right here, right now.

These times are calling us to wake up out of the dream, from within the dream. These times call us into simplicity, awareness, and ever-present, eternal stillness. Using a metaphor from the weather since that's been so stirred up lately-it's like how in the eye of a hurricane, or the center of a tornado, there is a stillness, a calm that is untouched by all that swirls around it. There is a root point that is anchored in stillness while the wind blows, and there appears to be chaos and destruction all around it.

Whether in the days to come, there are more earth or human uprisings on large or small scales, can we become even more aware of the pervading peace that is always aware of all aspects and expressions of consciousness? We may discover a peace that is strong and steady that may at first feel like it is within us, but then reveals itself to really be throughout all of life….unmoved by the comings and goings of temporarily manifested forms, with no need to label anything as this or that, and no need to entertain the endless stream of "what ifs" of the mind.

Things may start feeling a bit more Oz-like, as we truly are not in Kansas, anymore. Perhaps our life journey has presented us with many "tornadoes" that have swept us off into seemingly faraway lands. We've encountered many characters along the way, felt fear pop up in the face of the unknown, and worked through a plethora of wants and desires, only to see "Surrender Dorothy" written across the sky. Brilliant wisdom! In that surrender, we realized there is "no place like home," and that home is our true nature. Welcome home. Let's rest in that, enjoy some lollipops from the lollipop guild, and be grateful for manifesting those very cool pair of red glitter shoes.

Much love and support,
Julie
